Durga Mohan was born in a well-known [[Baidya]] family at Telirbagh, [[Bikrampur]], [[Dhaka]] in [[Bengal]], now part of [[Munshiganj District]] of [[Bangladesh]]. Bikrampur has a long historical and cultural trail since many centuries.
