Each month has two Dwitiya days, being the second day of the &quot;bright&quot; (&#039;&#039;Shukla&#039;&#039;) and of the &quot;dark&quot; (&#039;&#039;Krishna&#039;&#039;) fortnights respectively. Thus Dwitiya occurs on the second and the seventeenth day of each month.
