== Enayam International Seaport project ==
The [[Enayam International Seaport]] is a proposed project planning to reclaim {{convert|500|acres}} of land from the sea in three phases.

The proposed port would have the capacity to handle around {{convert|2,000,000|MT|spell=in}} of cargo a year, and would gradually be upgraded to process {{convert|8,000,000|MT|spell=in}} a year. Because this project could affect the local peoples' livelihood, it was put on hold by the state and central governments of India.
