On 6 December 1957, he was appointed as "Julgado Municipal Especial" at [[Ponda, Goa|Ponda]].<ref name="GoanSilva25" /><br />

On 20 April 1964, he was promoted to Civil Judge, Senior Division and Judicial Magistrate First Class. On 18 April 1974, he was promoted to be the Chief Judicial Magistrate of [[Goa, Daman and Diu]]. He progressed in his career and was appointed the first District and Sessions Judge of South Goa upon its creation on 4 February 1981.
