Khan was a Daanishmandan Pathan. His son [[Farooq Feroze Khan]], followed a career in the Air Force and became the only PAF officer ever to serve as [[Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (Pakistan)|Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee]], Pakistan's senior military appointment.<br />
