On 23 January 2020, Akshay Kumar and the whole team announced the sequel to Filhall. The shoot of the song was delayed because of the COVID-19 Pandemic in India. On 24 June 2021, Akshay Kumar, B Praak, Jaani and the whole team shared the official poster of the song named "[[Filhaal2 Mohabbat]]" stating that the teaser will be released on 30 June 2021. The song was released on 6 July 2021.<br />
