&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Gandharpale Caves&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, also called &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Mahad caves&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; or &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Pandava Leni&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, is group of 30 [[Buddhist]] [[caves]], 105&amp;amp;nbsp;km south of [[Mumbai]] on Mumbai-Goa Highway near [[Mahad]].&amp;lt;ref name=AHIR&amp;gt;{{cite book|last=Ahir|first=D. C.|title=Buddhist sites and shrines in India : history, art, and architecture|year=2003|publisher=Sri Satguru Publ.|location=Delhi|isbn=8170307740|page=198|edition=1.}}&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; The caves are located near the NH-17 and well connected by road.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Important cave include:&amp;lt;ref name=AHIR /&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
*Cave 1: has Verandah in front 53 feet long and 8 feet wide. Shrine has sculpture images of [[Buddha]], with wheel and deer beneath&lt;br /&gt;
*Cave 8: it has high dogoba&lt;br /&gt;
*Cave 15: has dogoba &lt;br /&gt;
*Cave 21: seated Buddha with attendants&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The inscription describes donations by bankers, and the gift of a farm to the [[Sangha (Buddhism)|Sangha]].&amp;lt;ref name=AHIR /&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
