Singh decided to take part in the [[2012 Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly election]] as a [[Bharatiya Janata Party]] candidate from [[Bhattiyat (Vidhan Sabha constituency)|Bhattiyat]]. But he was not nominated and Bikram Singh Jariyal was nominated instead of him.
