&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;George Clay Hubback&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; [[Doctor of Divinity|DD]] was an eminent [[Anglican]] [[priest]] in the mid twentieth century.&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;[[Crockford&amp;#039;s Clerical Directory]]1947-48 Oxford, [[OUP]], 1947&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

Born on 7 April 1882 he was educated at [[Rossall School]] and [[Liverpool University]] and began his career as a [[Civil Engineer]]&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;[[Who&amp;#039;s Who|&amp;quot;Who was Who&amp;quot;]] 1897-1990 London, [[A &amp;amp; C Black]], 1991 {{ISBN|0-7136-3457-X}}&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt;  before being [[ordained]] for the priesthood in 1910. After a [[Curate|curacy]] at St Anne&amp;#039;s, [[South Lambeth]] he was with the Oxford Mission to India until 1924 when he became [[Anglican Bishop of Assam|Bishop of Assam]].
