'''Gosal''' is a village in [[Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district]] of [[Punjab, India|Punjab]] [[States and territories of India|State]], India. It is located {{convert|3.5|km}} away from postal head office [[Banga, India|Banga]], {{convert|15|km}} from [[Nawanshahr]], {{convert|13|km}} from district headquarter Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar and {{convert|108|km}} from state capital [[Chandigarh]]. == Demography ==
As of 2011, Gosal has a total number of 196 houses and population of 904 of which 462 include are males while 442 are females according to the report published by [[2011 Census of India|Census India in 2011]]. The [[Literacy|literacy rate]] of Gosal is 77.21%, higher than the state average of 75.84%. The population of children under the age of 6 years is 88 which is 9.73% of total population of Gosal, and [[child sex ratio]] is approximately 1047 as compared to Punjab state average of 846.<ref name=census /><ref>{{cite web|url=http://pib.nic.in/newsite/PrintRelease.aspx?relid=103437|title=Child Sex Ratio in India (2001-2011)|work=pib.nic.in}}</ref>

Most of the people are from [[Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes|Schedule Caste]] which constitutes 63.16% of total population in Gosal. The town does not have any [[Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes|Schedule Tribe]] population so far.<ref name=census />

As per the report published by Census India in 2011, 276 people were engaged in work activities out of the total population of Gosal which includes 249 males and 27 females.
