Women's College Srinagar is situated in the heart of summer capital of [[Jammu and Kashmir (union territory)|Jammu and Kashmir]], Srinagar. It is an institution of Higher Learning for women in Jammu and Kashmir. It was established in 1950. The college is affiliated with the [[Cluster University Srinagar]] and [[University Grants Commission (India)|UGC]] under 2(f) and 12(b) of UGC Act 1956. The college has a glorious past with excellent academic track record and has played a vital role for education and empowerment of women in Jammu and Kashmir. At present the college is one of the few colleges in the country and so-far the only Degree College in Jammu and Kashmir with [[National Assessment and Accreditation Council|NAAC]] Accredited Grade A, a testimony to the academic excellence and quality culture achieved and maintained by the college. The College joined the elite club of institution with facilities of satellite based education by setting up of an Edusat Hub for [[Kashmir Valley]] in the college.<br />
