As of [[2011 Indian Census]], Gyanpur had a total population of 12,808, of which 6,908 were males and 5,900 were females. Population within the age group of 0 to 6 years was 1,622. The total number of literates in Gyanpur was 9,315, which constituted 72.7% of the population with male literacy of 78.3% and female literacy of 66.2%. The effective literacy rate of 7+ population of Gyanpur was 83.3%, of which male literacy rate was 89.3% and female literacy rate was 76.1%.
