'''Hāmid al-Ansāri Ghāzi''' (1909 – 16 October 1992) was an [[Indian people|Indian]] Muslim scholar who was the editor of bi-weekly newspaper [[Madina (Bijnor)|Madina]]. He was the son of [[Muhammad Mian Mansoor Ansari]]. He co-founded [[Nadwatul Musannifeen]].

Born in 1909 to [[Muhammad Mian Mansoor Ansari]] in [[Ambehta]], Ghāzi was an alumnus of [[Darul Uloom Deoband]], [[Jamia Islamia Talimuddin]] and [[University of the Punjab]]. He was a member of the executuive council of [[Darul Uloom Deoband]] and wrote books including ''Islām ka Nizām-e-Hukūmat'' and ''Khulq-e-Azeem''. He died on 16 October 1992.

==Biography==
Hāmid al-Ansāri Ghāzi was born 1909 in [[Ambehta]], Saharanpur.<ref name="rizwi"/> His father [[Muhammad Mian Mansoor Ansari]] was one of the major leaders of the [[Silk Letter Movement]].<ref name="asir">{{Cite book|title=Tazkirah Mashāhīr-e-Hind: Karwān-e-Rafta|author=[[Asir Adrawi]]|page=71|location=[[Deoband]]|publisher= Darul Muallifeen |language=Urdu |edition = 2 April 2016}}</ref>

Ghazi completed his primary studies under the guidance of his maternal grandfather Siddiq Ahmad Anbethvi.<ref name="rizwi"/> He studied at [[Darul Uloom Deoband]] and [[Jamia Islamia Talimuddin]] between 1922 and 1927.<ref name="nayab">{{cite book |last1=Qasmi |first1=Nayab Hasan |title=Darul Uloom Deoband Ka Sahafati Manzarnama |pages=198 |edition=2013 |language=Urdu}}</ref> He was one of the major students of [[Anwar Shah Kashmiri]].<ref name="nayab"/>He passed the "munshi" and "fazil" exams from [[University of the Punjab]].<ref name="nayab"/>

After finishing his studies, Ghazi was associated with the ''Al-Jamiyat'' for three years and then became the editor of [[Madina (Bijnor)|Madina]], a Bijnor-based newspaper.<ref name="nayab"/> Few years later, he associated himself with Tajwar Najībābadi's ''Naqqād'' for sometime and then established [[Nadwatul Musannifeen]] along with [[Atiq-ur-Rahman Usmani]], [[Hifzur Rahman Seoharwi]] and [[Saeed Ahmad Akbarabadi]].<ref name="nayab"/> Meanwhile, he served as the editor for ''Nida-e-Haram'', a [[Mecca]] based magazine, at the request of Muhammad Saleem Muhajir Makki, the rector of [[Madrasah as-Sawlatiyah]].<ref name="nayab"/> In 1942, he again joined [[Madina (Bijnor)|Madina]], and remained associated with it for five years.<ref name="nayab1">{{cite book |last1=Qasmi |first1=Nayab Hasan |title=Darul Uloom Deoband Ka Sahafati Manzarnama |pages=198-199 |edition=2013 |language=Urdu}}</ref>

In 1950, Ghazi moved to [[Bombay]].<ref name="nayab1"/> In Bombay, he was the editor of ''Jamhuriyat'', a daily newspaper published by [[Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind|Jamiat Ulama-e-Maharashtra]] until 1956.<ref name="nayab1"/> This paper was renamed ''Gufira-lahu'' ({{nastaliq|غفرلہ}}); and Ghazi started a new paper on his own, ''Jamhuriyat,'' using the same name.<ref name="nayab1"/>

Ghazi was appointed as a member of the executive council of Darul Uloom Deoband in 1382 [[Hijri year|AH]].<ref name="rizwi"/> He died in [[Bombay]] on 16 October 1992.<ref name="asir"/>

==Personal life==
Ghāzi was married to Hajira Nazli, the daughter of [[Muhammad Tayyib Qasmi]].
