The '''Hamoodur Rahman Commission Report''' (or '''War Report'''<ref name="BBC Pakistan Bureau">{{cite news |title=Bangladesh requests war report|url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/903149.stm|access-date=24 August 2016 |work=BBC News |date=30 August 2000}}</ref>) contains the [[Government of Pakistan]]'s official and classified papers of the events leading up to [[Instrument of Surrender (1971)|loss]] of [[East Pakistan]] and the [[Indo-Pakistani war of 1971|1971 war]] with [[India]].<ref name="Story of Pakistan reports">{{cite web |title=The Hamood-ur-Rahman Commission Report |url=http://storyofpakistan.com/the-hamood-ur-rahman-commission-report/ |website=Story of Pakistan |date=1 January 2003 |access-date=14 June 2022}}</ref> Initially, there were 12 copies of the report prepared by the [[Chief Justice of Pakistan|Chief Justice]] [[Hamoodur Rahman]]; all were destroyed except one. That single report was handed over to the [[Government of Pakistan|government]], which forbade its publication at the time.<ref name="Story of Pakistan reports"/> The report was leaked eventually by the [[India Today|Indian]] and the Pakistani [[Pakistani newspapers|newspapers]], including [[Dawn (newspaper)|''Dawn'']], drawing the attention of the public to its front pages in 2000. Originally, it was thought that the [[Government of Pakistan]] had declassified the Report in 2002 and was made it available to the public as [[public domain]] whereas it was free to download on the internet.
