==History==
Following along the ideals of the religious and social reformer, Swami [[Dayanand Saraswati]] and to impart knowledge in combination with that of the [[Vedas]], the school was founded in the year 1966 by the [[D.A.V. College Managing Committee]] in [[New Delhi]]. Honouring the principles of [[Mahatma Hansraj]], the school is a part of the 900+ schools and colleges managed by [[D.A.V. College Managing Committee]] in India and overseas.

Environmental conservation is a part of the school curriculum. Facilities include computer-aided education, audiovisual aids, multimedia systems, L.C.D Projectors. Internet technologies are being included in the classrooms in partnership with 'Classteacher.com' which is providing a virtual school service under which teachers, parents and students of class X and XII can come together on a single platform using their individual passwords. There is online availability of lesson plans, homework assignments, examination schedules, results, attendance record, school notice, and digital library services.

The school has 11 houses, with each being headed by a house-warden who is assisted by a group of teachers and prefects.

Anubhuti is a club for creative and talented students, teachers and parents who wish to appreciate and promote India's cultural heritage in art, music, dance, drama, painting and sculpture. Exposure is provided through interactions with artists, dancers and instrumentalists along with organisation of exhibitions and performances.

The club was inaugurated by Col. Bikram Singh, Director, Military Operations in 1999. Mrs. Anita Sharma, P.G.T. Mathematics, is the teacher in charge of Anubhuti. A talk was delivered by Dr. V.K. Srivastav, Prof. of Mathematics, Delhi University in 1999, on the role of teachers in controlling ill effects of media on young minds.

There is a skating rink, cricket & football ground, tennis grounds, gymnasium, taekwondo rink, junior and senior department basketball courts aside from a swimming pool. There are evening classes for the sports academy. There are 45 activities and hobbies organised in the Senior School and 22 in the Junior School in the fields of science, art and culture.
