Singh died childless on 26 March 1893, leaving two widows, Maharani Sheo Ratna Kuer and Maharani Janki Kuer. The former, who succeeded to the estate his death as his senior widow, died on 24 March 1896 and on her death Janki Kuer became entitled to possession. Since	it was found that she was unable to administer the estate, its management was taken over by the [[Court of Wards (India)|Court of Wards]] in Bihar in 1897.
