There was much hue and cry criticizing the campaign, though, individuals including renowned artists and a number of NGOs came forward to uphold the cause.<ref>{{Cite news|url=http://businesswireindia.com/news/news-details/lipi-foundation-joins-harp-farmer-his-campaign-against-negative-stereotyping-punjabis/48953|title=Lipi Foundation Joins Harp Farmer in his Campaign Against Negative Stereotyping of Punjabis|date=9 June 2016|work=Business Wire India}}</ref><ref>{{Cite news|url=http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/chandigarh/Lipi-Foundation-joins-Harp-Farmer-in-campaign-against-negative-stereotyping-of-Punjabis/articleshow/52685190.cms|title=Lipi Foundation joins Harp Farmer in campaign against negative stereotyping of Punjabis|date=10 June 2016|work=The Times of India}}</ref><ref>{{Cite news|url=http://prfeed.in/2016/06/lipi-foundation-joins-harp-farmer-in-his-campaign-against-negative-stereotyping-of-punjabis.html|title=Lipi Foundation Joins Harp Farmer in his Campaign Against Negative Stereotyping of Punjabis|date=9 June 2016|work=Press Release India|access-date=24 October 2016|archive-date=19 September 2016|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20160919052714/http://prfeed.in/2016/06/lipi-foundation-joins-harp-farmer-in-his-campaign-against-negative-stereotyping-of-punjabis.html|url-status=dead}}</ref><ref>{{Cite news|url=http://www.apherald.com/Business/ViewArticle/132175/Harp-Farmer-s-Mission-Stop-Defaming-Punjab%E2%80%9D-Gone-Viral/|title=Harp Farmer's Mission "Stop Defaming Punjab" Gone Viral|date=4 June 2016|work=India Herald}}</ref><ref>{{Cite news|url=http://punjabtribune.com/harp-farmers-mission-stop-defaming-punjab-gone-viral.html|title=Harp Farmer's Mission "Stop Defaming Punjab" Gone Viral|date=4 June 2016|work=Punjabi Tribune|url-status=dead|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20160709063251/http://punjabtribune.com/harp-farmers-mission-stop-defaming-punjab-gone-viral.html|archivedate=9 July 2016}}</ref><ref>{{Cite news|url=http://www.tribuneindia.com/news/life-style/gyan-zone/what-a-solution/249101.html|title=What a solution!|date=10 June 2016|work=The Tribune|archive-date=7 April 2019|access-date=24 October 2016|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20190407121255/https://www.tribuneindia.com/news/life-style/gyan-zone/what-a-solution/249101.html|url-status=dead}}</ref><ref>{{Cite news|url=http://channelsatrang.com/music/harp-farmer-in-new-controversy/|title=HARP FARMER IN NEW CONTROVERSY|date=31 May 2016|work=Channel Satrang|access-date=24 October 2016|archive-date=19 August 2016|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20160819105724/http://channelsatrang.com/music/harp-farmer-in-new-controversy/|url-status=dead}}</ref>
