His mother Ranjana Bajpai was national president of the [[Samajwadi Party]] Mahila Sabha-the party women's wing. He is grandson of congress stalwart [[Rajendra Kumari Bajpai]] former Union Minister of India and D.N. Bajpai was teacher by profession.<br />
