==Military career==
Educated at the [[Royal Military College, Sandhurst]], Warre was commissioned into the [[54th (West Norfolk) Regiment of Foot|54th Regiment of Foot]] in 1837.<ref name="bio">[http://www.abcbookworld.com/view_author.php?id=8519 Warre, Henry James]</ref> He became [[aide-de-camp]] to [[Richard Downes Jackson|Sir Richard Downes Jackson]], Commander-in-Chief of the Forces in British North America in 1839.<ref name="bio" />
