The word ''bhai'' in [[Hindi language]] means "brother" and etymologically corresponds to Russian word ''брат'' ("brat"). There are also [[cognate]]s in other [[Indo-European languages]]: ''brother'' in English, ''frāter'' in Latin, ''φράτηρ'' in Greek.
