He represents the Indian state of [[List of Rajya Sabha members from Maharashtra|Maharashtra]]. Pratapgarhi is known for his protest poetry that particularises the [[Muslims|Muslim]] experience and identity in India and other parts of the world; he is especially known for his Urdu [[nazm]]s &amp;quot;Madrasa&amp;quot; and &amp;quot;Han Main Kashmir Hoon.&amp;quot;&amp;lt;ref name=&amp;quot;Scroll&amp;quot;/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
