The lead to establish an all-India national congress of historians was taken by [[Pune|Poona]] historians during the period of [[British Raj|British colonial rule]]. The first session took place in [[Bharat Itihas Sanshodhak Mandal]], Poona, in 1935. Athar Ali|Athar Ali]], [[Barun De]], Iqtidar Alam Khan, [[B. N. Mukherjee]], [[K. N. The 79th session of the IHC, initially scheduled to be held at Savitribai Phule University, Pune, in December, 2018 was postponed. Now the [[Government of Madhya Pradesh]] has shown interest to conduct the event at Barkatullah University, Bhopal.&lt;br /&gt;
