The '''Indian Laser Association''' ('''ILA''') is an association of persons interested in [[laser]] technology and applications. The ILA is non-profit multidisciplinary professional organization. The association aims to promote education, advancement and applications of laser science and technology in [[India]], through various activities such as organization of seminars, symposia and training courses; publications of books and journals; and promotion of active interaction with other professional institutions especially in the field of medicine and engineering.

== Objectives ==

#Help towards the advancement, dissemination and application of [[laser]] [[science]] and techniques.
#Promote interaction among all persons, bodies, institutions (private and/or state owned, national or international) and specifically interested in [[lasers]] and related areas.
#Organize seminars, symposia, workshops, lectures, debates, training courses, conferences, and film shows pertaining to lasers and their applications.
#Organize regional and/or special interest chapters in the country as and when needed.
#Acquire property such as office premises, guest houses, repair cum training workshops and research and development centers.
#Secure grants, funds, endowments and to administer them to further any or all of the above aims and objectives.
#Frame, adopt and modify rules and regulations by which the association may conduct its business.

== Conferences ==
Every year the ILA arranges a [[National Laser Symposium]] (NLS) under the aegis of DAE-BRNS.
Before every symposium, the ILA arranges tutorials for students and young researchers.
