JEC was established as the  &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Government Engineering College (GEC), Jabalpur&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, on  7 July 1947, during the British rule in India. It was inaugurated by the then Minister for Education of the Central Provinces, S. V. It was affiliated to the [[University of Sagar]] between the years 1947 and 1956, then to the [[University of Jabalpur]] until the year 1999, and from 1999 to 2010 to the [[State Technological University of Madhya Pradesh]].
