The total geographical area of village is 374 hectares. As per [[2011 Census of India|Population Census 2011]], the Jaigad village has population of 2336 of which 1168 are males and 1168 are females, residing within a total of 503 families. The village exhibits an average [[Sex ratio|Sex Ratio]] of 1000, surpassing the Maharashtra state average of 929, with the Child Sex Ratio standing at 938, higher than Maharashtra's average of 894. Jaigad boasts a superior literacy rate compared to Maharashtra, with a 2011 literacy rate of 87.76%, as opposed to Maharashtra's 82.34%. == Thermal Energy Plant ==
[[JSW Group|JSW Energy]] Plant of Konkan Region i.e. [[JSW Ratnagiri Power Station|Ratnagiri plant]] is located in Jaigad village. == Tourism ==
Situated at the convergence of Jaigad creek and the [[Arabian Sea]], two forts were constructed to safeguard the creek trade route: [[Vijaygad Fort|Vijaygad fort]] on the northern side, now remaining as a bastion, and Jaigad fort on the southern side, which remains well-preserved. These forts can be visited in a single day from Ratnagiri and [[Guhagar]]. Other notable points are Jaigad beach, Jaigad lighthouse, Karhateshwar Temple, Kunbiwadi beach, Nadivade beach, Tavsal beach.
