&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Jatindra Kumar Nayak&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; is an [[India]]n translator, literary critic, columnist,&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;[http://www.telegraphindia.com/1110418/jsp/orissa/story_13867623.jsp The Telegraph Column]&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; editor and academic from [[Odisha]]. Nayak has translated several works of [[Odia literature]] into English, including &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Yantrarudha&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, a novel by [[Chandrasekhar Rath]], as &amp;#039;Astride the Wheel&amp;#039;.&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;[http://www.translatedfiction.org.uk/show/review/Astride-the-Wheel Book Review]&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Astride the Wheel&amp;#039;&amp;#039; for which he received the 2004 [[Hutch Crossword Book Award]] for Indian Language Fiction Translation. He also won the Katha Translation Award for his English rendering of Tarun Kanti Mishra&amp;#039;s short story as &amp;#039;&amp;#039;The Descent&amp;#039;&amp;#039;.&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;[http://ndtv.com/reading-room/kathatranslation.asp?part=2 Katha Translation Award]&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; Nayak is a co-translator of the English translation of Odia novel &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Chha Mana Atha Guntha&amp;#039;&amp;#039; by [[Fakir Mohan Senapati]]. The English translation of the book was first published in the USA under the title &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Six Acres and a Third&amp;#039;&amp;#039;. He has also translated into English the &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Atma Jibana Charita&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, the autobiography of Fakir Mohan Senapati, as &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Story of My Life&amp;#039;&amp;#039;.
