Joe D&amp;#039;Cruz was born in a [[Roman Catholic]] [[Paravar]] family in [[Uvari]], a coastal village in [[Tirunelveli District]] of [[Tamil Nadu]]. Joe D&amp;#039;Cruz published a Tamil poetry compilation, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Pulambazhkal&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, in 2004.
