==Background==
In 1970, businessman and film producer [[Mohammad Abul Khayer]] took the initiative to make a film called ''Joy Bangla'' based on the [[Six point movement]]. The film was submitted to the censors that year, but the then Pakistani government blocked the release of the film, but the film was released on January 26, 1972, after the independence of Bangladesh.

However, before the release of the film, 'Dhaka Records' owned by director Salahuddin released the film's songs and dialogues.<ref name="চলচ্চিত্রে জয় বাংলা" /> At that time the song 'Jai Bangla, Banglar Jai' became popular.

==Influence==
The [[Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra|Independent Bengal Radio Centre]] played an unforgettable role in stimulating the morale of freedom fighters and countrymen during the liberation war. Every day during the war, people eagerly waited to listen to the programs of Independent Bengal Radio Centre.
