Jyotisar is a pilgrimage site near Kurukshetra, Haryana, India.

Etymology
'Jyoti' means the light or enlightenment in this context. 'Sar' means the core. Hence, 'Jyotisar' means 'core meaning of light' or 'ultimately of God' i.e. the 'essence of enlightenment'. It is one of the most revered holy sites of the holy city of Kurukshetra. A Vat (Banyan tree) stands on a raised plinth. Local traditions say that this tree is an offshoot of the holy Banyan tree under which Lord Krishna delivered the sermon of Bhagavad Gita, the doctrine of Karma and Dharma to his wavering friend Arjun. It is here that He showed his Virat rupa (Universal form).
Jyotisar religious tourism
Jyotisar tirth, which is part of 48 kos parikrama of Kurukshetra, has been renovated and enhanced by the Kurukshetra Development Board. A marble chariot depicting Lord Krishna delivering the sermon to Arjuna marks the site of the Bhagavad Gita. There is also an old Shiv temple.

In 2021, a 40 feet tall statue of Lord Krishna, made of ashtadhatu (eight metals) in viratswaroop (universal form), was installed at the cost of INR10 crore (INR100 million) at Jyotisar where Lord Krishna revealed Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna. In 2021, it was announced that a virtualBhagavad Gita museum will be built at Jyotisar. A light and music show is organized by the tourism department at the site, on a regular basis, which recreates episodes from the epic Mahabharata.
