The corporation administers the [[Karaikudi metropolitan area]] which incorporates the city of Karaikudi and adjoining towns of [[Kottaiyur]], [[Kandanur]], [[Puduvayal]] and [[Sankarapuram]] and Surrounding villages of Kalanivasal, Sekkalai Kottai, Ilupakkudi, [[Ariyakudi]], [[Koviloor, Karaikudi|Koviloor]], Managiri and Senjai.
