The first Kashmiri feature film, (''Mainz Raat'', directed by Jagjiram Pal) was released in 1964. In 1972 ''[[Shayar-e-Kashmir Mahjoor]]'', a biography of Kashmiri poet [[Mahjoor]], was released.
