The word &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Kavyan&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; refers to a group of [[Malaysia]]n writers of [[India]]n descent who write in [[Bahasa Malaysia]], the national language of Malaysia. Kavyan Writers (or &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Sasterawan Kavyan&amp;#039;&amp;#039;) contribute [[novel]]s, [[short story|short stories]], and [[poem]]s to the Malaysian literary scene, occasionally in [[English language|English]] and [[Tamil language|Tamil]] as well. The &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Kumpulan Sasterawan Kavyan&amp;#039;&amp;#039; &amp;#039;&amp;#039;(Kavyan Writers&amp;#039; Group)&amp;#039;&amp;#039; is an association of Kavyan Writers.&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;http://uthayasb.blogspot.com/2011/10/speaking-in-tongues-part-1.html&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; The Kavyan set a record in &amp;#039;&amp;#039;The Malaysia Book of Records&amp;#039;&amp;#039; for a continuous 96 [[hour]]s &amp;amp; 32 [[minute]]s recital of short stories in August–September 2003. Its founder president is [[Uthaya Sankar SB]] and she is currently the only known member after the rest of the members left to form a rival society.
