Gharda is married to Abaan, who was a graduate of [[St. Xavier&amp;#039;s College, Mumbai|St. Xavier&amp;#039;s College]] and also earned a PhD from the University of Mumbai. She died 2017. He is an avid reader and has promoted Bai Ratnabai Gharda Library in [[Bandra]], Mumbai.
