Shuvo was elected to parliament from Tangail-7 as a Bangladesh Awami League candidate by defeat Jatiya Party candidate Jahir. Shuvo secured 1,04,059 votes while his closest rival Jatiya Party candidate Jahirul Islam Jahir got 16,773 votes only. Shuvo is the president of Tangail, FBCCI.
