== History ==
The village was named after [[Abdul Rahim Khan-I-Khana]] who was a poet who lived during the rule of [[Mughal Empire|Mughal]] emperor [[Akbar]]. == Demography ==
As of 2011, Khan Khana has a total number of 539 houses and population of 2469 of which 1270 include are males while 1199 are females according to the report published by [[2011 Census of India|Census India in 2011]]. The [[Literacy|literacy rate]] of Khan Khana is 80.47%, higher than the state average of 75.84%. The population of children under the age of 6 years is 236 which is 9.56% of total population of Khan Khana, and [[child sex ratio]] is approximately 944 as compared to Punjab state average of 846.<ref name=census /><ref>{{cite web|url=http://pib.nic.in/newsite/PrintRelease.aspx?relid=103437|title=Child Sex Ratio in India (2001-2011)|work=pib.nic.in}}</ref>

Most of the people are from [[Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes|Schedule Caste]] which constitutes 60.43% of total population in Khan Khana. The town does not have any [[Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes|Schedule Tribe]] population so far.<ref name=census />

As per the report published by Census India in 2011, 767 people were engaged in work activities out of the total population of Khan Khana which includes 686 males and 81 females. According to census survey report 2011, 52.28% workers describe their work as main work and 47.72% workers are involved in Marginal activity providing [[livelihood]] for less than 6 months.<ref name=census />

As per [[Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act]] the school provide free education to children between the ages of 6 and 14.
