He is a member of the [[Tripura Legislative Assembly]] from [[Nalchar Assembly constituency]], which is reserved for Scheduled Caste community, in [[Sipahijala district]]. == Early life and education ==
Barman is from [[Nalchar Assembly constituency|Nalchar]], Sipahijala district, Tripura. He is the son of Amar Chand Barman. == Career ==
Barman won from Nalchar Assembly constituency representing the [[Bharatiya Janata Party]] in the 2023 Tripura Legislative Assembly election. On 3 July 2025, he was administered oath as a minister by the Governor N. Indrasena Reddy at Raj Bhavan in [[Agartala]]. He joined the Chief Minister Manik Saha cabinet as a 12th member.
