Kokrajhar town is located along the bank of the river [[Gaurang]]. The North East Indian Railways divides the city into two divisions, north and the south Kokrajhar. Kokrajhar town is the headquarters of [[Kokrajhar district]] and the [[Bodoland Territorial Council]] (BTC).&lt;br /&gt;

It is inhibited by people of different ethnicities and cultures. The main inhabitants are [[Bodo people|Bodos]], [[Koch Rajbongshi]], [[Assamese people|Assamese]], [[Garo people|Garo]],Jharua(koch Muslim)[[Jharua]] and [[Santals|Santalis]]. [[Bodo people|Bodos]] and other tribals can be seen in most of the villages while [[Bengalis]], [[Indian Gorkha|Gorkha]], [[Biharis]] and [[Marwari people|Marwaris]] are seen as merchants in Market areas.Goria  ,Jharua mainly Baruapar with 6 other south site village people [[Jharua]] ,Deshi mainly fakiragram gossaigaon area[[Deshi]], Miya mainly south site of koj&amp;amp;Gossaigaon , tea tribes can also be seen in the tea gardens.&lt;br /&gt;
