'''Koleḻuttu,''' popularly romanised as '''Kolezhuthu''' (கோலெழுத்து, കോലെഴുത്ത്), was a syllabic alphabet of south India ([[Kerala]] and [[Tamil Nadu]]) used for writing [[Malayalam]] and [[Tamil language]]s.<ref name=":1">Narayanan, M. Kolezhuthu developed from [[Vatteluttu script|Vattezhuthu script]] in the post-[[Chera/Perumal|Chera Perumal]] (c. 12th century onwards) period in Kerala.<ref name=":1" /> It was used by certain Kerala communities (such as Muslims and Christians) even up to c. 18th century AD.<ref name=":1" />

Kolezhuthu probably gets its name from a peculiar type of stylus which was used for its writing.
