== Early life ==
Kottu Satyanarayana was born in [[Tadepalligudem]] in [[West Godavari district]] of Andhra Pradesh. He completed his intermediate education at D. R. G. Government College, [[Pentapadu]].<ref name=":0" /> He is married to Soudhani Kumari.<ref name=":0" />

== Career ==
Kottu Satyanarayana contested from the [[Indian National Congress|Congress party]] in the [[1994 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election|1994]] and [[1999 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election|1999]] Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections but did not win. He was elected to the assembly for the first time in the [[2004 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election|2004]] elections with a majority of 24,933 votes against his nearest rival, the [[Telugu Desam Party|TDP]] candidate Pasala Kanakasundaram Rao. He has served as a member of the PCC, member of Assurance Committee of Andhra Pradesh Legislative, and member of House Committee Irregularities of Milk Dairies.<ref name="శాసనసభా స్థానాల వైఎస్సార్‌ సీపీ అభ్యర్థులు వీరే" />
