In the [[2016–17 Ranji Trophy|2016–17 Ranji Trophy season]], Gowtham picked up two consecutive five-wicket hauls, against [[Delhi cricket team|Delhi]] and [[Assam cricket team|Assam]], helping his team win both the games.
