Early life and education
Chaudhury was born on 13 November 1964 in India to Dr. Sujit and Gauri Chaudhury. Chaudhury attended IIT Kharagpur for a short period, but his father was a professor at Calcutta Medical College and wanted him to pursue medicine, so he enrolled there. However, he had no interest in studying medicine and dropped out, joining Jadavpur University for his Bachelor’s degree in electronics and telecommunication. In 1994, he completed his Ph.D. in computer science in computer vision and image processing from the University of Kentucky, Lexington.
