==Historical significance==

Lakhueen-jo-daro is located near Sukkur. Material cultural finds of this site indicate that it predates [[Indus Valley Civilization#Mature Harappan|Mature Harappan]] period. It covers a large area in the form of few mounds.<ref>{{cite web|title=Collecting samples from a Lakhueen-jo-daro trial trench|url=http://ancient.sindh.ws/hphs/15.htm|url-status=dead|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20080422174251/http://ancient.sindh.ws/hphs/15.htm|archivedate=2008-04-22}}</ref><ref>{{Cite web|last=Yusuf|first=Suhail|date=2014-02-07|title=Don't forget Lakhan jo Daro|url=http://www.dawn.com/news/1085516|access-date=2020-12-10|website=DAWN.COM|language=en}}</ref>

A radiocarbon date obtained from a charcoal sample collected from the same trial trench opened in mound "C" from which samples were taken by the Italian Archaeological Mission in Sindh in 1997, and the bronze figurine was found by the same mission, confirm the datation of this part of the site (GrN-23123: 3960+/-140 BP; 2478+/-215 cal BC at 1 sigma)(see Biagi and Starnini 2021)
