It is situated 80&amp;amp;nbsp;km from [[Bareilly]] on Nainital Road, 24&amp;amp;nbsp;km from [[Rudrapur, Uttarakhand|Rudrapur]], 6&amp;amp;nbsp;km from [[Pantnagar Airport]], and 16&amp;amp;nbsp;km from [[Haldwani]]. &lt;br /&gt;
Lalkuan is an important railway junction of NER and serves as gateway to Kumaun region of Uttarakhand. Many important long-distance trains originate from Lalkuan. Some of the short-distance trains also originate from here to Bareilly, Moradabad and Kashipur.&lt;br /&gt;

Lalkuan is known for a huge paper mill (Century Pulp &amp;amp; Paper) of Birla Group. And it is very near to G.B. Pant University Agriculture and Technology Pantnagar.&lt;br /&gt;

Railway station of Lalkuan is one of the biggest railway stations of Uttarakhand.&lt;br /&gt;

lalkuan is surrounded from dark forest from one side and a river from another side.Its forest is connected to Nepal cause of which its also a track for Asiatic Elephants. now these days lalkuan also be identified as the new home for ITBP (Indian &amp;amp; Tibet border police force ). Lalkuan also having Indian Oil Depot. Its also famous for 25 acar land which is home for hundreds of paper mil workers. A Big numbers of Youth Follow lord Shiva in this Colony.&lt;br /&gt;
