This includes appointing a lawyer in case the person is a defendant in a case. These authorities periodically organize &#039;[[Lok Adalat|lok-adalats]]&#039; (Hindi for &#039;&#039;Public Court&#039;&#039;) for out-of-the-court settlement of the cases (under provision of the law).
