==Biography==
Moolamattom Varkey Pylee was born in [[Pulinkunnoo]] on 5 October 1919.<ref name="Autograph of M. V. Pylee | publisher=Indian Autographs | date=2016 | access-date=10 June 2016}}</ref> He had extensive education starting at Pulinkunnoo St. Joseph's Higher Secondary School and held degrees such as M. A. (Luck). D. Litt. (Pat) and LL. M. ([[Harvard University|Harvard]]). He was also honoured with D. Litt. from [[Banares Hindu University]].

His wife, Elsie Pylee, died in 2004.<ref>[https://web.archive.org/web/20040629032558/http://www.hindu.com/2004/06/12/stories/2004061214390300.htm The Hindu : Kerala / Kochi News : Around the City]</ref> The couple had three children, two daughters and one son. Prof. Pylee resided in [[Kalamassery]], in Ernakulam.
