The &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Madras Motor Race Track&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;MMRT&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, previously known as &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Irungattukottai Race Track&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;) is a permanent motor [[race track|racing circuit]] located in [[Irungattukottai]], [[Chennai]], [[India]]. It was built in the late 1980s and was inaugurated in 1990. In 1971, the Madras Motor Sports Club, Coimbatore Auto Sports Club, Karnataka Motor Sports Club along with Calcutta Motor Sports Club and Mumbai&amp;#039;s Indian Automotive Racing Club, united to form the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), headquartered in Chennai, to ensure common regulations and orderly conduct of events.&amp;lt;ref name=&amp;quot;LiveMint_F1UpFromSouth&amp;quot;/&amp;gt; Race meets were held on airstrips at [[Sholavaram]] in Chennai, [[Sulur]] in Coimbatore and Agara in Bangalore. The main circuit is {{convert|3.717|km|mi|3}} long with 12 turns and 3 straights, with the longest one being {{convert|250|m}}. The club Circuit is {{convert|2.067|km|mi|3}} long and has 7 turns. Both the tracks are {{convert|11|m}} wide on average with {{convert|12|m}} at the start line and operate in a clockwise direction.
