&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Syed Mahboob Ali Shah&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (born 13 October 1938) is a former [[Pakistan]]i [[first-class cricket]]er and [[Test cricket|Test]] [[cricket]] [[umpire (cricket)|umpire]].&lt;br /&gt;

Mahboob Shah was born in [[Delhi]].  Before becoming an umpire, he played in 14 first-class matches for [[Baluchistan cricket team|Baluchistan]], [[Central Zone cricket team|Central Zone]], [[Karachi Whites cricket team|Karachi Whites]], [[Karachi C cricket team|Karachi C]], [[Quetta cricket team|Quetta]] and [[Karachi University cricket team|Karachi University]] between 1954/55 and 1960/61.  He reached the Final of the [[Quaid-e-Azam Trophy]] in 1957/58 with Karachi C, losing to [[Bahawalpur cricket team|Bahawalpur]].  He achieved a [[batting average (cricket)|batting average]] of 21.10 in 21 [[innings]], including a high score of 152, his only first-class century, for Karachi University against [[Sind University cricket team|Sind University]] in February 1960;&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;{{cite web|url=https://cricketarchive.com/Archive/Scorecards/23/23973.html|title=Karachi University v. He umpired 28 [[Test cricket|Test matches]] and 32 [[One Day International|ODI]]s between March 1975 and March 1997, mainly in Pakistan – only four of his Test matches were overseas.   He made his Test umpiring debut in March 1975, in the second Test between [[Pakistan national cricket team|Pakistan]] and [[West Indies cricket team|West Indies]] at the [[National Stadium, Karachi]].&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;{{cite web|url=https://cricketarchive.com/Archive/Scorecards/34/34948.html|title=Pakistan v.
