Nami was born in May 1911.<ref name="asir">{{Cite book|title=Tazkirah Mashāhīr-e-Hind: Karwān-e-Rafta|author=[[Asir Adrawi]]|pages=236–237}}</ref> He completed his primary studies at [[Jamia Miftahul Uloom]] with Abul Lateef Nomani and [[Habib al-Rahman al-'Azmi]].<ref name="nur">{{cite book |editor1-last=Qasmi |editor1-first=Ameer Ahmad |title=Nur-ul-Ulum Ke Darakhshanda Sitāre|pages=27–28}}</ref> Nami entered the [[Darul Uloom Deoband]] 1344 [[Hijri year|AH]], where he studied with [[Hussain Ahmad Madani]], [[Izaz Ali Amrohi]] and Ibrahim Balyawi. He graduated in 1348 AH.<ref name="nur"/><br />
