He made his directorial debut with the 2006 Bengali film &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Aamra]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;. His next directorial was &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Bedroom]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (2012). He has directed multiple critically successful movies including &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Maach Mishti &amp;amp; More]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Bibaho Diaries]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Generation Ami]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Cheeni&amp;#039;&amp;#039; and &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Ekannoborti]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;. A student of Economics and Computer Science, Bhaumik graduated with a double major from City University in New York. Released in the same year, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Ami Aar Amar Girlfriends]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039; is a coming-of-age movie about the lives of three Indian girls who cling to their friendship in times of trouble. In 2014, his next film &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Take One&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, is about a modern Indian woman, an actress who plays the Hindu mythological character Sita, and is judged harshly by Indian society because of her sexual indiscretions.
