According to the [[2011 Census of India]], Majiara had a total population of 5,444 of which 2,813 (52%) were males and 2,631 (48%) were females. Population in the age range 0–6 years was 721. According to the 2011 census, the [[urban agglomeration]] (UA) centred upon Asansol had a population of 1,243,414. In addition to the erstwhile municipalities of [[Kulti]], [[Jamuria]], and [[Raniganj]] subsequently incorporated into the [[Asansol Municipal Corporation]], the agglomeration included the [[census towns]] of [[Amkula]], [[Baktarnagar]], [[Ballavpur]], [[Bhanowara]], [[Domohani]], [[Egara, Paschim Bardhaman|Egara]], [[Jemari (J.K. According to the &amp;#039;&amp;#039;District Census Handbook 2011, Bardhaman&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, Majiara covered an area of 7.1883&amp;amp;nbsp;km&amp;lt;sup&amp;gt;2&amp;lt;/sup&amp;gt;. Among the civic amenities, it had 6&amp;amp;nbsp;km roads with both open and covered drains, the protected water supply involved overhead tank, tap water from treated sources, handpump, tank, pond, lake. It had 800 domestic electric connections. Among the medical facilities it had 1 dispensary/ health centre, 6 medicine shops. Among the educational facilities it had were 4 primary schools, 1 middle school, the nearest secondary school at [[Kalla, Asansol|Kalla]] 1&amp;amp;nbsp;km away, the nearest senior secondary school and the nearest general degree college at [[Asansol]] 9&amp;amp;nbsp;km away. Among the social, recreational and cultural facilities, it had a public library.
